An A1 or Q3 where the factory car came WITHOUT built-in navigation.

• Small screen, around 5 inches, with a simple text menu.
• If your car has factory nav, you want MMI 3G rather than this.
• Roughly 2012 to 2018.

Audi MMI 2G, lower spec

An A4, A5, S5 or Q5 on the lower-spec system, roughly 2009 to 2016.

• Simpler menus and a smaller screen than MMI 3G on the same car.
• No factory navigation on most of these.
• If your car has a colour map on screen from the factory, choose MMI 3G instead.

A rotary MMI knob on the centre console, and on the A6, A7 and A8 a screen that rises out of the dash when you start the car.

A fixed screen, sharper graphics than MMI 3G, and a knob that has a touch surface on top.

• Screen does not retract.
• 5.8, 7 or 8.3 inch.
• Roughly 2014 to 2018 on the A3, A4, A5, Q2, Q5 and Q7.

Audi MIB2 Plus

An A1 or Q3 from 2019 to 2021 with an 8.8 inch fixed screen.

• Wider screen than the MMI 3G cars, sharper graphics.
• Still has a rotary controller, unlike MIB3.

Audi MIB3

A large touchscreen with no rotary knob left on the console at all.

• The MMI dial is gone. Everything is touch.
• Roughly 10.1 inches.
• 2020 onwards on the A3, A4, A5, Q5, Q7 and Q8.
